Winnie Byanyuma named among 50 most influential women in Africa, Africa Forbes Woman 2020

The UNAIDS Executive Director Winnie Byanyima has made it to the list of 50 most influential Women in Africa.  Byanyima has appeared on the cover of the Forbes Africa Magazine March issue. The march issue reorganizes women who have worked tirelessly to build the nation and improve lives of people around them.

Who is Byanyuma

Byanyuma is the wife to opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye. She has worked in big organization like Oxfam, African Union, UNDP and now UNAIDS. It should be remembered that she was the first female aeronautical engineer in Uganda.

Other powerful women on the list include South Africa’s businesswoman Irene Charlie, Rebecca Enocho from Cameroon among others.
