Will the Students Loan Scheme work?

Ojobile Augustine

I now get to my knees and pray to god, what is the real explanation we can give for all this.Today Thursday 24th April, President Museveni comes to Kyambogo University, with reasons of launching the students loan scheme.

As well supervise why the engineering department is no longer producing facilities for commercial benefits, forgetting that the poor management set by this government has affected both public and private institutions.

And this has already caused problems to the students who are now forced to pay tuition fees with 3weeks to go.

I hear that over 300 million shilling has already been taken from Kyambogo university to cover the costs of the launch, I also had a glance at the program of the day and no student representative is given an opportunity to speak out for the students who are the main focus of the day.

When we hear of a launch, it sounds very welcoming, but with the poor institutionalism and corruption levels that are now over 150%,  I am not convinced that even the 4million which is the hopeful money to reach the poor will go to the right persons, but will be a gain to those who can afford, making the poor constantly poor.

This has been seen in the government lists, state sponsored lists and now another branch has come, unprepared, not scrutinized and its the students loan.

Pray hard we are sorry, if a student cannot speak for fellow students in a student affair, then where is a student going to speak.

I strongly say, WE DON’T NEED MUSEVENI but we need INSTITUTIONS AND STRUCTURES THAT ARE NOT CORRUPT OR INTER FEARED WITH PARTICULAR INDIVIDUALS
