Victoria University attracted hundreds of senior six leavers and their parents during the Open Day to look at the courses and programmes offered at the city centered institution.
Dr. Stephen R. Isabalija, the Vice Chancellor told parents and students that their mission is to contribute to the progress of society with employment oriented and knowledge thus advancing skills in entrepreneurship and creating self sustaining Ugandans for a better Uganda.
“Our vision is to provide access to higher education transcending boundaries and developing education opportunities which conform to highest international standards,” he told parents and prospecting students during a special presentation after touring the University.
“The institution was committed to supporting President’s efforts to promote Skilling Uganda programme and also to bridge a gap between practicals and theories,” Dr. David Byatike Matovu, Chairman university Council told the vistors.
He invited students to take advantage of the courses offered at the Victoria university in order to transform themselves and become change agents after graduation.
The University Secretary, Dr. Michael Kakooza noted that their courses are market driven and designed to equip the students with cutting-age knowledge, skills relevant in today’s competitive job market.
