UWEC to construct the first floating restaurant in E. Africa.

Uganda Wildlife Education Centre-(Uwec),  formerly the Zoo has announced plans to build a floating restaurant on Lake Victoria, Mr James Musinguzi, Uwec’s executive director announced recently.

He said the project will cost five billion shillings and government has already contributed 615 million shillings. The money will also be used to set up a beach development project; a multi-purpose white sand beach on the lake shores.

The floating restraint will be called the Pier Restaurant.

The Pier Restaurant will be divided into four floors, with the first one housing the main restaurant, the second housing 16 rooms and the top floors will serve several functions. There will also be a provision for a docking area for boats going to various destinations on L. Victoria.
