Microsoft Corporation engaged Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) students in its enormous technologies and opportunities that can benefit them in their study projects and startups.
The main agenda of the talk held at the university campus in Bugolobi Kampala, was to interest students in exploring Microsoft technologies.
The talk mainly targeted undergraduate students in the School of Computing and Engineering.
It was about the various technologies and opportunities that Microsoft has to offer such as Azure, Online Visual studio, Dream Spark for students, the Microsoft Student Partner program among others.
The two officials from Microsoft Uganda, Ms Lillian Nassanga and Paul Asiimwe, encouraged the UTAMU students to sharpen their business capabilities, develop their products and launch their solutions to the market.
Ms Lillian Nassanga said Microsoft is taking a step further to support and offer students all over the world, the exposure of a real-world startup experience outside of the lecture halls.
“As a student, you can use Microsoft platforms to market your startups, businesses or projects,” Nassanga said.
She further explained Microsoft Uganda’s mission which is to help people (students and businesses) to realize their full potential.
Asiimwe also share the various learning resources and tools which a good developer can utilize and come up with good projects and applications.
The students were also engaged in how they can develop and manage their own websites at a no or low cost.
