University of Miami Scholarships for International Students in USA, 2017

The University of Miami is inviting new international students to apply for Undergraduate Scholarships.

The University of Miami is a private research university with approximately 10,000 undergraduate students from around the world. Its unique location in Coral Gables, Florida, offers students the best of both worlds: a small campus setting with large academic and cultural opportunities.

Applicants whose first language is not English are usually required to provide evidence of proficiency in English at the higher level required by the University.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate programme.

Study Subject: Scholarships are awarded to study the subjects offered by the university.

Scholarship Award:

President’s Scholarship: Students considered for an academic scholarship have significant academic achievement. Those selected to receive a scholarship take the most challenging curriculum, earn in the highest grades, and are at the top of our applicant pool. Students are automatically considered for the President’s Scholarships when they apply for admission to the University. Students selected to receive a President’s Scholarship will be notified no later than the end of March via his/her CaneLink account by the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Students applying for a second Bachelor degree are not eligible to receive a President’s Scholarship.
Academic Scholarship Amount: Ranges from $18,000-$28,000 annually

Canes Achievement Award: This merit-based award recognizes students for their significant accomplishments inside and outside of the classroom.
Academic Scholarship Amount: Ranges from $5,000-$16,000 annually

Premier Academic Scholarships and Amount: The most academically competitive students accepted to the freshman class may be considered for a Premier Scholarship.
Stamps Scholarship Scholarship – Full cost of attendance plus an enrichment fund stipend
Ronald A. Hammond Scholarship – Full tuition
Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship – Full tuition
Marta S. and L. Austin Weeks Endowed Scholarship – Full tuition

Scholarship can be taken in the USA

Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Students are automatically considered for the President’s Scholarships when they apply for admission to the University. The University of Miami takes into account students’ high school grades, difficulty of course curriculum, extracurricular activities, essay, and guidance counselor recommendation(s), as well as the overall quality of the pool of applicants applying to the university each year when making scholarship award decisions. The SAT/ACT is not required for applicants studying outside of the United States regardless of citizenship. However, students who graduate from a school within the United States are required to submit the SAT/ACT for scholarship consideration. A student may receive only one academic scholarship from the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  • The Scholarship Committee will make the final determination on all scholarship awards.
  • To be eligible for academic scholarships, international candidates must submit a complete application for admission with all academic credentials, including a bank letter by the deadline listed below. The bank letter must indicate the applicant will be able to cover the difference between the scholarship award and the total cost of attendance.

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must have high school degree.

Test Requirement: The SAT/ACT is not required for applicants studying outside of the United States regardless of citizenship. However, students who graduate from a school within the United States are required to submit the SAT/ACT for scholarship consideration. A student may receive only one academic scholarship from the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

  • Complete the Application: Complete and submit the Common Application online.
  • Send Official Transcripts: All applicants who have attended a secondary school outside of the United States must submit their official secondary documents (transcripts, mark sheets, certificates, examination results, etc.) to Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultant for an evaluation.
  • Send Official Test Scores: Applicants currently studying within the U.S. Students graduating from a high school in the United States are required to submit SAT or ACT scores.
  • Complete the School Report: The School Report should be completed by the applicant’s high school guidance counselor and can be found on the Common Application website. It is typically submitted along with the applicant’s high school transcript and a school profile.
  • Letter of Recommendation/Teacher Evaluation: University requires a letter of recommendation from your high school guidance counselor. An additional Teacher Evaluation/letter of recommendation is also required and can be submitted online through the Common Application’s Teacher Evaluation form or mailed to:
