Kick off: 4:00PM
Venue: St Joseph’s Nsambya play grounds
Uganda Martyrs University will be hoping to register their first win in the League when they take on Coach Sempa Kyobe’s lukewarm side-KIU.
In the second round of University top flight football, Uganda Martyrs University will lock horns against KIU at St. Joseph’s Nsambya grounds on Wednesday, March 27.
Uganda Martyrs University
The Martyrs are heading into the game on the back of a losing streak against MUK on March 20. Despite of staging a good par performance through out the 90 minutes, they failed to salvage a point at the end.
Occupying the eighth spot on the league table, the team has so far struggled to perform in the highest echelons of University football. They have an abysmal record at home and away .They have an overall record of 57 matches played, with no win or drawn but lost all the 57 played.
Moses Okot, the Martyrs captain, has expressed confidence that his side will start grinding out results in their favour.
“The bottom line is that we have playing good ball with out results out of all the games. So obviously we are doing a lot to at least win a game; the only thing we are looking at now is getting the right result against KIU. Obviously we haven’t won a game in all of our matches due to some simple mistakes; Moses Okot was quoted as saying to the media.
Kampala International University
The green warriors would be brimming with confidence knowing that can salvage the three points against a poor form UMU though they lost Kampala University by 1-0 on March 21.
Sitting at the fifth spot on the league table, the green warriors have tried grinding out decent results since last season. They have performed impressively at home, and their record on the road has not let down them either thus far.
KIU boss, Kyobe, would be confident to bag all three points on Wednesday, well knowing that his opponents have not registered a win in all competitions. In the last two head-to-head meetings between Uganda Martyrs and Kampala International University, KIU emerged victor in all the matches.
