In a ceremony presided over by Kampala Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga at Nkozi main campus on Friday February 15, 2019, the former Chancellor,  Archbishop John Baptist Odama appreciated the Uganda Episcopal Conference for an opportunity to leadership and prayed for a blessed leadership journey for his successor and the new UMU team.

Archbishop Lwanga, who doubles as the patron of the university, urged the new management and staff to ensure that all UMU campuses maintain the same quality and so as to uphold public confidence in the institution.

“I know you may meet challenges, but if you are firm and work as a team, God will always be with you because this is a University of Jesus Christ,” he said.
