Uganda Christian University (UCU) in Mukono lost their third-year student Nathan Kamanzi who was pursuing a bachelor of Human Rights, Peace and Humanitarian Interventions
Nathan drowned in a swimming pool on 26th September 2019 at nyerer bugujju center in Mukono municipality, where Kamanzi and friends had gone to have fun.
According to his fellow student, Nathan left campus in the company of four other students saying they were going out to have fun.
University colleagues said, “Nathan has been a social and friendly person who always loved moving out with friends,” Mukisa said.
According to the staff at Nyerere Bugujju center, when Kamanzi and his colleagues arrived, they ordered for drinks before they started swimming.
Moments after they started swimming, Nathan disappeared from his colleagues. That’s when the attendant checked only to find, he had drowned.
Kamanzi’s body was retrieved from the swimming pool, given first aid but he was already dead.
The body was then rushed him to UCU clinic and after to Namirembe Church of Uganda hospital in Mukono for examination.
