Uganda Christian University students emerged winners of the Inter-University debate organized by the Human Rights Club of Cavendish University.

The topic discussed was whether “Death Penalty” should be left in the hands of judges or be scrapped off.

The President of the Human Rights Club at Cavendish university, Mwosana Cathy Jackie noted that the topic was chosen so as to make necessary awareness on grand human-rights violations in the country.

“Through this debate, we can make a collective pronouncement on death penalty in Uganda and other related matters” Cathy told The Campus Times.
