Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono has commissioned a bakery worth UGX 400 million to add value on students offering a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management to boost hospitality and accommodation programmes.
The bakery was commissioned by the Vice Chancellor Rev. Canon Dr. John Senyonyi on Friday January 3rd 2020.
“We have done this but it is not all about jobs and money, it is intended to promote vocationalism among our students, raising some funds as well as getting our staff something to eat at a subsidized price while doing work,” Dr. Senyonyi said.
The bakery system has four slots each accommodating 52 loaves of bread and in total the bakery accommodate 208 loaves per baking.
UCU Hospitality Officer Miss Vanessa Ngango said that, the expansion of this facility to the student community will improve their skills and also help them to make business for their survival.
She promised that five years to come, UCU will be having the best trained students in the field of Tourism and Hospitality Management who will be on high demand in the Job market.
