Uganda Christian University (UCU) Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance (BSAF) program has received accreditation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants(ACCA), a global body for professional accountants.
According to Agume Antony, a lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Administration, the approval signifies that UCU students in the BSAF program have acquired learning in the context of real-world accounting skill and method applications.
Agume added that the University can now boast of the fact that it can “ produce innovative solutions to problems related to accounting and financial management,” which will “increases the employability of our graduates,”
ACCA further rewarded five exemptions to all UCU graduates who will apply under Accountant in Business (F1), Management Accounting (F2) Financial Accounting (F3), Corporate Law (F4) and Financial Reporting (F7).
However, this applies to the graduates who could have finished their graduation atleast three years back.
To Godfrey Sempungu, the Associate Dean of Faculty of Business and Administration, the accreditation is “yet another testament of quality and growth of the faculty and the university.”
ACCA is the global body for professional accountants, offering business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition who seek a career in accountancy, finance and management.
