Today Marks 5 Years Since the Mozey Radio Went Silent

On February 1st at 06:00 local time (03:00 GMT) on Thursday, 2018, the singer, who made up one half of duo Radio & Weasel, lost his fight for life.

Goodlyfe singer Mowzey Radio, real name Moses Ssekibogo Nakintijje breathed his last and died just hours after President Yoweri Museveni donated $8,300 (£5,800) towards his medical bills, the industry is today celebrating his Legacy and remembering his life.

 The musician had a week prior just celebrated his 33rd birthday in coma at Case Clinic, a local private hospital in the capital, Kampala where he also breathed his last and passed.

Radio was being treated for head injuries he sustained in the alleged bar brawl and Five people were arrested in connection with the incident so far but only one was charged and convicted for manslaughter.

The singer was allegedly beaten into a coma at a popular hang out spot in Entebbe town, south of the capital Kampala.

He had been in hospital ever since, although his management had stressed his condition was improving, so was never the case.

On February 1st at 06:00 local time (03:00 GMT) on Thursday, 2018, the singer, who made up one half of duo Radio & Weasel, lost his fight for life.

Radio’s mother Jane Kasubo said her son had been “everything” to her, and his death had left her “with nothing”.

“He always gave me even the little he had. Mowzey Radio always took care of his sisters,” she told reporters who gathered after his death.

 At the time of his death, Mowzey had featured in a series of songs, wrote for very many artistes under his then newly founded music label dubbed Angel Music.

In the final week of every January to February 1st of every year that followed on after his death, the artiste is remembered by radio stations, TV stations and club DJs who play his music in honor of his tremendous contribution to the Ugandan music industry.

Radio was living at his Neverland House in Makindye with his music partner Weasel Manizo and was also constructing a house in Entebbe. On top of that, he was also almost finishing building a house for his mother Kasuubo Jane in Nakawuka, Kagga where he was also buried.
