Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020, Makerere University fifth in Africa

Times Higher Education (THE), formerly The Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) is a weekly magazine based in London (United Kingdom) Europe.

The magazine provides news and issues related to higher education worldwide.

The times higher education had been providing trusted information and rankings on how universities perform on the global scene, since 2004 up to date.

According to Times Higher Education World University Rankings published 2020, Makerere University is the fifth-best university in Africa and 250th on the global scene (Makerere College of Health Science)

Makerere University (Muk) is the first and largest University in Uganda which was established in 1922 with over nine colleges and one school offering programs for about 36,000 undergraduates and 4,000 postgraduates.

The rankings released this month have revealed that Makerere University is the best in East Africa, Central Africa and West Africa

South Africa still has the best universities in Africa such as the University of Cape Town in the first place followed by the University of Witwatersrand, Stellenbosch University and University of Kwazulu-natal still in South Africa.

Comparing to the August ranking list, there was an improvement in the performance of Makerere university from the 16th Position to the 5th position this month.

The 2020 rankings released were published and released on11st of September 2019
