The Tiger breaks the cage:Bala David wins Makerere university guild polls

Bala David Bwiruka, Makerere university Guild President elect.

Baala David voted Makerere university Guild President 2015/16. Bala David Bwiruka’s camp are in cloud nine after the massive and landslide victory of Makerere university Guild Elections.

Bala,  a late entrant in the race due to court proceedings,  won the elections with 5564 votes.

His closest competitor Mwine Musa managed to pull 2696 while Stella Namulidwa gathered 2376.

Opoya Micheal got 1297, Mukula George Williams 635, Sentongo Ivan 109, Lubega Henry 69, Kayondo Latimo 35, Tusiime Festus 33, and Baguma Andrew 23 votes.

Makerere university Students in a cheerful mood.

The Electoral commission chairperson Mr Ssembogga Roy announced the votes at 9 pm to the waiting crowds at the guild offices.

He replaces Bwowe Ivan the first independent Guild President at Makerere University.

Bala is from the Students Brotherhood,  a new political party at the institution.

He was involved in court battles with the University as he was expelled from the race only to be reinstated a week to the elections.

Upon joining the race,  he was the most popular candidate beating others who had campaigned for over two weeks.

Bala David is the newly elected guild president of Makerere university.

His vocal ability and quotes earned him massive followers. Some of his quotes include ;

“Makerere needs a person with a six inch skin like that of a Zulu warrior. “

” You only see the skeleton of an antelope and know the Tiger has been their”

Bala is from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
