The Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon Maria Mutagamba, flagged off the search for this year’s Miss Tourism Uganda.
The 3rd edition of Miss Tourism Uganda organized under the theme; “Celebrating Uganda’s Cultural Diversity,” will see the replacement of current Miss Tourism, Patricia Babirye Ntale who won last year’s (2014) edition.
Miss Tourism is aimed at promoting Tourism and culture in different regions across the nation.
11 regions will take part in the Auditions after which the overall winners will be determined at the Miss Tourism Uganda Gala Final scheduled for 28th August 2015. The president is expected as the chief guest.
The regions include: Northern Uganda, Busoga, Karamoja, Buganda, Teso, Kigezi, Bunyoro, West Nile, Ankole, Mbale (Eastern) and Tororo.
The regions shall each send 3 representatives who will overtime be eliminated to only leave 11 for the final.
Three overall winners shall then emerge to represent Uganda at various international Tourism competitions.
