The Sport Science Department of Kyambogo University is hosting Prof Wycliffe W.Njororai Simiyu, from the University of Texas at Tyler, USA.
While at Kyambogo University, Prof Simiyu will Mentor Graduate students and PhD registered Staff in research, participate in reviewing the university’s M.SC (Sport science) Curriculum, Mount new courses and present a couple of Seminars in research to the university community.
He will also see the setting up of the Fitness Training Studio at Kyambogo university.
He arrived in Uganda on Friday 20th June 2014; Prof Simiyu will work with the Sports Science Department of Kyambogo University for 60 days under the Carnegie African Diaspora fellowship programme (ADF).
The programme connects Diaspora Scholars with African Institutions by engaging them in educational projects proposed and hosted by African Universities in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
There are 33 African Diaspora scholars to collaborating with higher education institutions in Africa on curriculum co-development, research, graduate teaching, training and mentoring activities (See full list at http://www.iie.org/Programs/Carnegie-African-Diaspora-Fellows-Program/Hosts-and-Fellows)
