JOB DETAILS: 
University Research Co.LLC (URC), a US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is implementing USAID’s Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East Central Uganda Activity (USAID’s RHITES EC). The purpose of the Activity is to support delivery of health and HIV services in 12 districts of East Central Uganda. URC seeks qualified candidates to fill the following positions;
Team Leader-Family Health
Job Purpose: The Team Leader Family Health is responsible for providing high level strategic leadership guidance and oversight for design, implementation, monitoring/ evaluation and documentation of for the RMNCH, Family Planning and Nutrition components of the USAID RHITES EC program. S/he will have relevant technical expertise and experience, and solid professional reputation and program management expertise. S/he will mentor and supervise a team of Technical Advisors including, Family Planning /reproductive health Advisor, Child Health and Nutrition Advisor. .

Required Experience and Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in medicine;
• a Postgraduate qualification in Medicine or Public Health, or another relevant field;
• At least 10 years of professional working experience in strengthening service delivery systems in RMNCH/FP and or nutrition programs, ideally working closely with central and district local governments to design, implement and monitor related public health interventions;
• Broad knowledge and understanding of the Ugandan health care system, particularly the public health system (district health services) and good knowledge of relevant community support structures.
Other desired attributes:-
• Experience with USAID and or other donor projects,
• Experience collaborating and developing partnerships with Ministries of Health/ National Programs, District Local Governments, donors, NGOs, and/or other stakeholders on RMNCH initiatives in alignment with national strategic plans, experience working within Uganda is strongly preferred,
• Experience in managing quality improvement interventions and technical/institutional capacity building programs, and Excellent written and oral communication skills
