Swedish Ambassador Visits Mbarara University of Science and Technology

Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Urban Andersson (2nd R).

The Swedish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Urban Andersson paid a courtesy visit to Mbarara University  of Science and Technology on Thursday 5th February 2015.

Mr. Andersson was officially welcomed to the university by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Celestino Obua and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Pamela Mbabazi.

During the visit, the Ambassador held cordial discussions with university officials on the current status of the university with emphasis on the several developmental initiatives in the university supported by Sweden through SIDA, the Swedish Development Agency.

Discussions were also held on possible areas of future cooperation and collaboration.

The Ambassador also visited the university library which has in the past benefited from Swedish support particularly in ICT infrastructure and e-libraries through the Lund University-MUST (LUMUST) collaboration.

The Ambassador also visited the CamTech Uganda Project co creation innovation lab at MUST and was very impressed at the innovation projects that were showcased.

Mr. Andersson presented to Prof. Obua a book in commemoration of his 101st day in office as the Vice Chancellor of MUST.
