Journalism Course: Nkumba University offers journalism courses at both degree and diploma levels. The journalism course at Nkumba is designed to train students with practical skills needed for the job market.

The department has a well-equipped modern Radio studio, used by students for hands on lessons.

The university is currently installing a television studio that will ease the training of students interested in working for television.

The Journalism department also has enough cameras and audio recorders for students to use while in the field.

The university collaborates with the different media houses in the country to offer internship placements for journalism students wishing to do industrial training outside the university.

The Head of journalism department, Bogere Francis says that with the installation of Television and Radio studios at campus, students are free to do industrial training within the university.

“Our students are trained in all fields; they can work in the print, electronic and the new media,” Francis says.

He says that journalism students are not only trained to work on Televisions and Radio stations, as many perceive it.
