Study Coordinator Job – Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC)

About US:

The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) is a non-profit research organization. IDRC conducts research in infectious diseases including Malaria, HIV and Tuberculosis. Our studies have led to over 300 publications and have impacted on the management of infectious diseases in Uganda. IDRC currently manages over 41 Grants with an annual budget of $11 million. IDRC was established in May 2008 by Ugandan health scientists from Makerere University College of Health Sciences, University of California, San Francisco and the Uganda Ministry of Health.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in study monitoring, coordinate data collection, and follow up of study participants.
  • Coordinate with peer mentors for PrEP delivery activities with Key populations.
  • Conduct routine data quality assurance (DQA) together with Study Coordinator.
  • Participate in project data and performance reviews as required with the study team.
  • Ensure field activities and management procedures have set timelines and meet established deadlines.
  • Plan and organize stakeholder engagement meetings and coordinate field activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or a related degree.
  • A master’s degree in public health will be an added advantage.
  • At least three years of work experience in a research setting.
  • Ability to engage project stakeholders.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ICT skills including use of Microsoft office Apps will be an added advantage.
