About Project:
MEDA is working with UGAFODE through the MicroLead Expansion- Uganda program (support of UNCDF and MasterCard Foundation) to offer sustainable mobile financial services to rural women and men in Uganda that have limited or no access to savings through the formal financial system. The goal of the project is to improve the livelihoods of rural households as a result of access to appropriate and sustainable financial services
Job Summary: The Savings Mobilization Advisor is to technically support field staff management of the UGAFODE Savings Mobilization project in planning, analysis, implementation, reporting, and communication. Additionally, this position will contribute to monitoring and evaluation activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Management Support and Management Training – Support HQ Project Manager in management of UGAFODE Product Development team with pilot, monitoring and launch implementation.
- Technical Product Documentation, as need arise in the project
- Coordinate in producing donor reports from UGAFODE (i.e. quarterly UNCDF financial and qualitative reports)
- Act as the key liaison with MEDA HQ in communication on workplan and activities
- Work with UGAFODE Project Manager to draft and update weekly reports on savings mobilization process
- Technically support MEDA and UGAFODE with the partnership development with local organizations
- Responsible for support Knowledge Management, blog ideas, industry paper topics based on field learnings
- Actively coordinate with MEDA M&E officer with data collection needs
- Responsible for logistical support and relationship management
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The candidate should hold a University degree, ideally a Business, Finance, International Economic Development or related field.
- At least a year to two managing international development project in East Africa
- Detailed knowledge of international, microfinance and business development concepts a plus.
- Excellent research, analytical, writing, and interpersonal communication skills. Independent, self-directed and highly motivated.
- Exhibit commitment and support of MEDA’s faith, values and goals.
