Position Title: Student Pathways Advisor
Department: Cotton on Foundation Uganda
Location: Lwengo, Rakai and Masala districts
Reports to: Pathways Program Manager
Number of Reports: One (O1)
Duration: Permanent dependent on successfully meeting 6 months probation period
The Cotton On Foundation (COF) is an International Development Organization that is passionately driven by our team to create sustainable change by empowering youth through quality education. The organisation started operations in Uganda in 2007 and currently operates in Southern Uganda in the districts of Rakai, Kyotera, Lwengo, and Masaka. Its projects address the root causes of problems that prevent children and young people from getting a quality education. Our model is based on four pillars: Inspiring Schools, Education, Pathways and Community Engagement. COF projects contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Goal 4 in particular. Position Purpose:
The Pathways Advisor will work with students, caregivers, teachers and the community in COF supported schools to access to the Students Pathways Programme. The Student Pathways Programme will provide the necessary support to for students to develop individual pathways plans to progress into further education, provide guidance to students and parents through career journey planning and support them to obtain skills that will support them in securing employment or creating their own jobs. The Pathways Advisor will be committed to the Cotton-On Foundation goal of “Goal of creating Quality Education as part of the Child’s Journey”. .

Meet with every student before they complete secondary school

Every student has a one on one career planning session

Keep student database up to date
Benchmark Measure
Every student captured in database before leaving primary school and secondary school with contact details and their next school or employment opportunity
Annual Operational Accountabilities
Coordinate Pathways Events in Uganda
Benchmark Measure
Attended all pathways events and help facilitate the events including camps and fairs
Pathways events (eg, camps and fairs) in Uganda are organised, coordinated and well conducted.
Annual Operational Accountabilities
Conduct and Annual check in to all graduated students
Benchmark Measure
Connect with every graduate each year to understand where they are at and how they have become a contributing citizen
Annual Operational Accountabilities
Coordinate with Lead Sponsorship Coordinator to ensure scholarship assessments are conducted, fair awards are given and accurate records are on file
Benchmark Measure
Scholarships are awarded to students in line with fair assessment
