SOS Children’s Village has two job opportunities for Primary Teachers

Job Title: Primary Teachers (2 Careers) –Upper Primary & Lower Primary

About SOS:

SOS Children’s Villages Uganda is an indigenous non-government, social development organisation affiliated to SOS Children’s Villages International, a worldwide child care organisation, currently running Children’s Villages and other projects in 135 countries around the world. SOS has been working in Uganda since 1991, and runs Children’s Villages and other projects at Kakiri, Entebbe (Abaita Ababiri), Gulu and in Fort Portal – Kabarole district.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The Teachers should hold diplomas in primary education from a recognized Institution.
  • The applicants for Upper primary MUST have experience in teaching Mathematics and English in Doth Upper and middle Primary classes for a minimum of three years
  • The applicants for lower primary teaching MUST exhibit experience in teaching Mathematics, Literacy 1, art & technology in lower primary classes for a minimum of three years.
  • Ability to teach Luo/Acholi is an added advantage.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • He/she should be youthful, display interest in children’s educational matters & their general development. Should be able to guide slow learners for successful results.
  • Skills/experience in music, games & sports, teaching computer, teaching home economics, leadership of clubs like scouting or any other vibrant primary school co-curricular activity is an added
  • Willingness to stay and work in Gulu.
  • The applicants should be mature gentlemen or ladies aged 25-30 years
