Singer Sheebah Karungi is in Bullish Mood

She has vowed to turn a deaf ear to whoever is lecturing her on how to dress appropriately.

Her comments come after State Minister of Mineral development Sarah Opendi discussed the growing habit of unguided music concerts in schools on the floor of Parliament.

In her submission, Opendi revealed that musicians often perform in skimpy dresses and dance suggestively when they visit these schools.

She noted that this is morally wrong for the students and affects their mental wellbeing.

Opendi further cautioned that the dress code of such artistes and their raunchy performances is shameful yet the students look at them as their role models.

She hence asked the Government to stop musicians from accessing schools for these concerts to avoid some artistes who “go there almost naked.”

“Parents bring their children to learn morals and values. You cannot pull off those dances we see musicians do in school. It is very unfortunate that we have witnessed videos of nursery children dancing the same moves,”

Although the minister never mentioned names, Sheebah Karungi, who recently put up a raunchy performance in a micro mini-dress at Seeta High campus, shot back.

She says no one was there for her when she was a struggling karaoke dancer and, therefore, they have no moral authority to lecture her on how to dress or make money.

“When I was a karaoke singer earning sh9,000 where were they? When I spent days in church on an empty stomach, where were they?  You can’t wait for me to hustle and make it before telling me what to do.  No one will tell me what to do, how to dress… I am an adult who has catapulted myself to the top,” she scoffed.
