KCB Bank Uganda was established in the year 2007 and has grown to become one of Uganda’s top ten commercial banks. Currently KCB Bank Uganda has 14 branches complemented with 16 ATMs spread on Kampala Road, Commercial Plaza, Ben Kiwanuka, Luwum Street, Oasis Mall Sixth Street, Arua, Elgon Masaba, Fort Portal, Gulu, Hoima, Lira, Mbarara and Jinja that offer trade financing, corporate and retail banking services to customers.

 

Job Summary:  The Security Manager  will be responsible for the Oversight of Physical Security and Safety of KCBU Premises (Branches, Business Offices, DRP site, Document Archives), Employees (Premises Health & Safety), Assets (Buildings, Cash, Cash-in-transit, Fixtures & Furniture, Business Equipment {Vehicles, Computers, Machinery}) and Customer Safety.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of group security policy, enforcement of standards, controls, processes and regulatory determined procedures for Physical Security and Safety.
  • Develop and execute the annual Departmental Plan and budget within approved limits.
  • Develop and maintain Business Continuity, Risk, and Compliance Management & Regulatory Controls for Business Requirements regarding Security and Safety.
  • Relationship Management and engagement of Key Stakeholders: Head of Operations, Security Service Providers (Guarding, Electronic Security) Law Enforcement Agencies (Police, Intelligence), Branch Managers, Statutory bodies
  • Standing Member of the Health and Safety Committee, Business Continuity Management Committee (HR, Facilities)
  • Drive Security Programs/Initiatives during the business cycle.
  • Incident Management and Reporting of Physical and Safety matters (e.g. Emergency Responses, Crisis Management, Investigations, Crime Scene Management).
  • Oversight Management of security at corporate events and all KCB Uganda premises through efficient deployment of security officers and, electronic security systems
  • Prepare and present Security Briefing, Analysis and Reports to EXCO and provide security and safety advisory to staff
  • Key liaison person with the country law enforcement agencies on matters of interest to the bank including investigations and provision of security and intelligence.
  • Managing the contracted security service providers to include guards, intruder alarms, CCTV, guard force and access control.
  • Police liaison and provision of armed security guards
  • Investigation of security incidents and advising management on remedial measures.
  • Reviewing and approving payments to security contractors
  • Collection and analysis of security intelligence and issuing security alerts when and as required

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree OR Specialized Certification – Business / Security Related Field
  • Professional Qualifications – Completed Military, Police Service/Experience
  • Master’s Degree – Security Management/Strategic Management
  • Experience Area 1 Senior Law Enforcement; military/police/intelligence)
