Pope Francis has appointed the Masaka Vicar General, Rev.Msgr.Serverus Jjumba to act as the new Bishop of Masaka Diocese.
Masaka has been under the administration of Rev. John Baptist Kaggwa who has served as the ordinary for twenty(21) years.
According to the press release by the apostolic nunciature on Tuesday evening, Rev. Kaggwa will still act as the administrator upto the day of the Bishop coronation.
Bishop-elect Jjumba has served as an assistant at Biikira parish from 1992 to 1993, treasurer at minor seminary from 1993 to 2000 and from 2000 to 2014 he served as the Diocesan treasurer.
He has currently been serving as the Masaka vicar general, the position he assumed in 2014.
