Research Fellow needed at Uganda Management Institute (UMI)

Job Title:  Research Fellow – Participants Research

Uganda Management Institute (UMI) is a Management Development Institution with a mission “to excel in developing sustainable management capacity”. It provides management training, consultancy and research services in response to the demands of the public, private, and NGO sectors. In addition to short performance improvement management skills development courses, the Institute offers high quality career development management courses at Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma and Higher Degree Levels. The Institute’s activities are currently carried out at the main campus in Kampala and its Centers in Mbarara, Gulu and Mbale.

Job Summary: The incumbent will primarily promote and coordinate research goals and activities in the Institute

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant should possess an Honors Bachelor’s Degree First Class or Second Class Upper and Master’s Degree Two (2) years of Research experience At least one (1) recognized publication in the area of specialization
  • Proven teaching experience in the area of specialization and or research methodology course is a requirement;
  • Superb interpersonal, organizational, fundraising and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, data spreadsheets and internet/email technologies
  • The applicants with proven experience of Graduate Students supervision will have an added advantage
