Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAU) is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by The Accountants Act. It has the legal mandate to regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda; to prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practising accountants in Uganda; as well as conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops and executes plans to accomplish the Institute’s public policy strategy and goals.
- Monitors the regulatory environment to enable ICPAU identify and contribute to policy, legislation and regulation that affects the Institute, its members or the wider public.
- Prepares advisories to Government and other stakeholders on issues related to good governance, financial management and accountability.
- Obtains, evaluates and reports information about sector trends, threats and opportunities.
- Promotes public education on public policy issues in the field of accountancy.
- Prepares and submits consultation responses and communicates public policy issues to stakeholders.
- Develops partnerships within the private and public sectors to advance the Institute’s strategic goals.
- Undertakes initiatives to ensure the visibility of the Institute.
- Works collaboratively with other Professional Accountancy Organisations and regional organisations to advance the interests of the accountancy profession.
- Provides administrative and technical support to relevant committees and groups as directed.
- Any other duties as requested by his/her supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a degree in economics, political science, governance, public administration, social policy, business studies, management, communication, languages, law or any other relevant field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in any relevant policy-related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (desirable).
- At least two years of experience in public policy, advocacy or public affairs.
- Experience in stakeholder management.
- Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills.
- Policy research skills.
- Ability to analyse and present data.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good team working, networking, management and influencing skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive.
- Record of delivering effective results.
- Personal drive and motivation.
