Profile: Rev. Dr. John Senyonyi, Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University

Dr. John Senyonyi holds a PhD in Mathematical Statistics and a M.A. in Theology and Evangelism. In Aug 2010 he was appointed Vice Chancellor of Uganda Christian University (UCU), one of the oldest private chartered universities in Uganda.

He joined UCU in 2001 as Chaplain and became Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration before taking on the role of Vice Chancellor.

Profile of Dr John Senyonyi.
Senyonyi was born to Eriakimu Kajja and Efulansi in Luwero in 1956. He is the third child in a family of 13

Senyonyi attended Nakasongola and Bowa Church of Uganda primary schools from 1961 to 1968.

In 1969 he joined Ndejje Senior Secondary School for an East African Certificate of Education.

Senyonyi then went to Kings College Buddo in 1973 where he enrolled for an East African Advanced Certificate of education till 1974.

He joined the University of Nairobi where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree.

Dr. Senyonyi  is also the founding director of Family Life Network and the chairman of the mission committee of African Evangelistic Enterprise (www.aeeuganda.org)

In addition, he has presented and consulted for the Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON); spoken at the New Wineskins for Global Mission conference.

He has chaired the Uganda Youth Forum. Dr. Senyonyi holds a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics and a M.A. in Theology and Evangelism.

John came to UCU in 2001 as Chaplain; became Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration; and currently is DVC Development and External Relations. 

Senyonyi also holds a certificate in management from the International Institute of Management, Sydney Australia, a Masters degree in Theology from Trinity International University, USA and a doctorate of philosophy in mathematical statistics from University of Melbourne, Australia.

Senyonyi is also a member of the GAFCON theological working group and founding member of City Parents School, Mengo.

Rev. Dr. John Senyonyi is married to Ruth Nantege Senyonyi, a counseling psychologist at Bank of Uganda and they they have been blessed with four children.

Philimon Badagawa.

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
