Prof. Jude T. Lubega Appointed Nkumba University Deputy Vice Chancellor

Professor Jude T. Lubega has been appointed the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Nkumba University.

This was announced by the Board of Trustees of the Registered Trustees of Nkumba Educational Trust.

His appointment took effect from 1st February 2020.

According to a communication from the university, the appointed Vice Chancellor is responsible for resource mobilization and utilization, implementation of the university Strategic Planning, Senate Committees (Admissions, Budget Preparation, Quality Assurance, Menu and Accommodation, Examinations etc), Promotion and coordination of linkages with other Academic and Professional Institutions and the world of work.

Prof. Jude T. Lubega

Prof. Lubega holds a PhD in Computer Science. He has a wealth of experience and competencies in ICT, Management of Universities, Research and Publication, Business Networking, Supervision of Graduate Students and proposal writing for Grants.

He has been serving as the Deputy Vice Chancellor at Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU).

He previously served in Makerere University from 2007 t0 2012 as the Deputy Dean and the Head of the Information Technology Department in the College of Computing and Information Sciences.

He has been the Chief Executive Officer for 8Tech Consults one of the leading ICT consulting companies in Uganda.
He is an experienced ICT4D consultant and has undertaken numerous researches and projects both nationally and internationally.

“Nkumba University heartily and welcomes Prof. Jude T. Lubega and pledge to support him in all ways possible to facilitate and ensure he carries out his work effectively and comfortably”, a message on Nkumba University website reads in part.

Nkumba University is one of the private universities in Uganda. It was granted a Charter by the Government of Uganda in 2006.

Philimon Badagawa

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
