Job Summary: The Products Officer will:
- Provide support in the Products unit under the Products and Project Management Office.
- Recommend and implement new product developments and enhancements to the existing product set.
- Understand KCB Uganda competitive position for each product category and sector of the market make recommendations in respect of pricing and l market potential.
- Act as the principal point of contact on product issues for sales and marketing teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Direction 30%
- Provide support in identification of opportunities for new product developments and enhancements in line with the bank strategy.
- Undertake competitive research for product differentiation and produce regular reports on competitor’s product analysis; make proposals for unique value propositions and pricing.
- Monitor and provide report on competitor product activity, including pricing.
- Co-ordinate production of a uniform Tariff for customers, which is easily understood by customers and staff and easy to administer.
- Undertake product legal and regulatory assessments.
- Regular review of the all bank products to ensure that the bank remains competitive.
- Embed the Innovation framework to generate new ideas in the bank.
Business Management:50%
- Manage the process for tariff updates in line with Central guidelines and governance.
- Monitor adherence to agreed product tariff, working with stakeholders to rectify errors where identified.
- Work with Retail Sales and Marketing teams to ensure appropriate product sales materials and processes are in place.
- Provide business input for implementation of new products by:
- Engaging relevant stakeholders
- Provide inputs and support in building of business cases.
- Managing the IT development process where required
- Completing all product testing
- Building a detailed implementation plan
- Closely monitoring implementation
- Coordinate to give necessary notices to regulators and public of product and price changes
- Review and provide feedback into customer satisfaction surveys, responding to customer product complaints.
- Liaise with Learning and Development team, Business teams and Product owners to design and deliver appropriate training to drive business growth.
- Provide input into sales strategies.
- Undertake regular product surveys and implement recommendations.
- Ensure correct bundling of product to drive product uptake and monitor the uptake to ensure customers adopt the entire suite of bank products.
Relationship Management 10%
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with Business functions as well as all support functions. like Marketing, credit, Operations, IT e.t.c
Risk, Compliance & Controls 10%:
- Interface with the risk & compliance function to achieve the desired results.
- Maintain centralized folder of all related product information to ensure adherence to internal and external Audits
- Maintain centralized folder of all documentation on the project related documents for Audit and BOU preparation.
Daily responsibilities:
- Ensure great working relationship with team members for overall achievement of departmental goals by role modelling the corporate values of the Bank
- New client onboarding through the development and maintenance of a pipeline of prospective clients within Public Sector to ensure sustainable growth of the Portfolio.
- Provide timely and accurate reporting of pipeline, strategic partnerships, bidding opportunities and relationship management activities
- Ensure adherence to all bank’s prescribed processes, standard operating procedures and central bank requirements.
- Ensuring proper systems are in place to effectively manage AML/CFT risk for the Portfolio.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree – Statistics, Commerce, Quantitative Economics and Arts in Economics
- Professional Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Knowledge of product management cycle.
- Knowledge of Bank products, services and policies including standard tariffs
- A good working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and related markets.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation e.g., KYC, Anti-money laundering etc.
- A thorough knowledge of banks internal departments and procedures as well as risk and rigor requirements
- A sound knowledge of the bank’s internal departments, systems & procedures.
- Detailed understanding of competitor products and services
