President Museveni blesses Cultural gala at Busitema University

Busitema University Cultural Gala: The Gala was organized by students from the 5 campuses of Busitema University that included Nagongera, Arapai, Namasagali and Mbale campuses.

The Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, Professor Mary Okwakol, said culture is the basis of social identity and development .She thanked the government for establishing Busitema University and said that the 5 campuses were today developing into centres of excellence.

President Museveni congratulated Busitema University students upon organizing the gala and noted that at their exhibition only the stall of students from Bugisu had products like wooden spoons, which are healthy and long lasting.

He added that items like wooden plates and spoons, once produced in bulk, would earn the country a lot of money from the world market as those products are made without chemicals.

On the economy, President Museveni urged students to take keen interest on how the economy of the country is organized, select the sector one can fit in so as to make an input.

The President explained that the economy of Uganda is organized in mainly 4 sectors of modern commercial agriculture, Industry, Services and Information communication technology (ICT).
