Parliament select committee to Dig into St. Lawrence schools sex Scandals

Allegations of sexual harassment in the St Lawrence schools started in May 2017 after the death of the director, Prof. Lawrence Mukiibi who died at 69 years.

The professor had more than 70 children most of whom he allegedly sired from some of his students and mothers of their students.

The allegations received wide outrage from members of the public.

Women members of parliament under their umbrella organisation, Uganda Women’s Parliamentary Association (UWOPA) had, in 2017, demanded parliament to establish a probe into the sexual matters at the school although it was not implemented.

However, the parliament select committee will not leave it out of the box in its bid to wipe out the sexual vice in schools.
