Prince Kassim Nakibinge, the titular head of Muslims in Uganda was recently awarded with an honorary Doctorate of Philosophy. The award was given to him by Lahore University in Pakistan.
Professors from the university conferred the degree to Prince Nakibinge at Kibuli Hospital on Friday 4th April.
This was in appreciation of his exceptional leadership and selfless contribution to humanity and for his inspirational community work that has earned him respect among Muslims in the world.
“In recognition of his services, integrity of leadership and inspirational community work for the Muslim community of Uganda, the Governor of the Punjab has conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy upon Mr Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu,” Prof Awais Raoof, who led a delegation from Lahore, said.
A honorary doctorate is conferred to individuals in recognition of their exceptional work in their field of expertise or higher education.
Prince Nakibinge was in 1999 awarded with the Legion of Honour Worlds Peoples Bureau of Libya and the Vocational Service Award from the Rotary Club of Muyenga.
