Paapa Were Salim, is the new Guild President elect of Makerere university (2018/2019)d

Paapa Were Salim has been announced Makerere University Guild President for the year 2018/2019.

He won with 3,202 votes to beat fourteen other candidates in the guild elections.

Paapa is a fourth year student of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine.

Edward Kinene Semakula, the flag bearer for Uganda Young Democrats (UYD) emerged second with 2,267 votes according to results announced by Makerere Electoral commission Chairperson, Isaac Kenneth Isabirye.

Silver Kent Lwamaza – Indipendent  (1,528)

Andrew Julian Taliwaku – Independent (1,380)

Chiluba Fredrick Narsh – FDC  (776)

Prize Marie Ahimbisibwe – NRM (163)

Papa Were Salim takes over from Forum for Democratic Change’s Kato Paul as Makerere University 84th Guild President.

Philimon Badagawa is a multimedia journalist with skills in news gathering, packaging, editing and online publishing. He has knowledge in data visualization, can design and manage websites. He previously worked as a journalist with Observer media and authored several articles and stories. He does research, video & audio recording, editing and production for online publication. He Participated in The New Dawn photography campaign aimed at rebranding Northern Uganda-USAID/NUTI Project (2010). Philimon is in love with photography, writing, reading, sharing new ideas and interacting with reasonable people for skills development.
