NUP Lawyer Anthony Wameli Dies

Renowned National Unity (NUP) Platform Lawyer Anthony Wameli has died. The NUP Party President Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine announced the sad news on Wednesday 8th February 2023. Wameli died in the US where he has been receiving treatment. Its alleged that Wameli was diagonised with stage four.

His achievements

  1. He was the founder of Wameli & Co. Advocates.
  2. He nurtured more than 300 advocates.
  3. He practiced law for over 10 years.
  4. He served as the Grade one Magistrate in the Chief Magistrate court of Nakasongola District.
  5. He has been a human rights lawyer.
  6. Wameli was a pastor at Ebenezer Christian Fellowship Church in Kanyanya, Kampala District.
  7. On September 10, 2021, the Uganda Law Society (ULS) named Wameli as the criminal defense lawyer of the year.
  8. The ULS also named his law firm as the law firm of the year.
