Nkumba University Hosts Workshop on Campus Security

 Nkumba University’s School of Social Sciences held a community sensitization workshop on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, focused on enhancing security within higher institutions of learning. The event featured a presentation by ACP Christopher Barugahare, Commander of the 999 System at Police Headquarters.

“Strengthening security in our educational institutions requires a proactive approach based on regular threat assessments,” ACP Barugahare emphasized. He urged participants to develop comprehensive security plans tailored to their specific needs.

Dr. Anne Abaho, Dean of the School of Social Sciences, underscored the importance of collaboration between the university and the Uganda Police.

“By working together, we can empower our students to prevent attacks and create a safe learning environment,” she stated.

Representing the Vice Chancellor, Mr. Christopher Kimuli expressed gratitude to ACP Barugahare for providing valuable insights on campus security.

“This workshop reinforces the understanding that safety is a shared responsibility that requires community involvement,” Kimuli noted.
