Nigerian Afrobeat singer Ajibade Oluwatosin, popularly known as Mr Eazi, is currently on a private visit to Uganda.
Mr. Eazi, who reportedly arrived last Friday appears to be staying at the Serena Hotel, according to the photo shared by Agriculture Minister Frank Tumwebaze.
“Happy to meet Mr Eazi, a young Tech-prenuer with one of the most revolutionary FinTechs in the e-commerce space. He is also a good musician & an investor in Uganda’s business,” said Minister Tumwebaze in his tweet.
This is not the first time Mr Eazi is in Uganda, in 2017, he performed at Lugogo Cricket Oval alongside his fellow Nigerian singer Tekno.
The singer hasn’t yet made any public statements regarding his private trip to Uganda, but as a well-known businessman, particularly in the field of technology, he may be participating in a covert survey to look into potential business opportunities in Uganda.
Mr. Eazi devotes a lot of his energy to addressing issues facing the African creative industry.
Under his EmPawa Africa, he provides music publishing, distribution, and marketing services to independent artists and record labels.
In Uganda, Fik Fameica is one of the artists that teamed up with EmPawa. Their partnership was signed in 2022 as Fik desires to expand and grow his brand.
Since bursting onto the music scene in 2013, Mr Eazi has emerged as one of Nigeria’s most popular global exports.
He is well known in Uganda for his hit songs like “Legover,” “Pour Me Water,” “Property,” “Surrender,” and “Dance For Me” among other songs.
