NDEJJE UNIVERSITY: SOUTH SUDAN DEPUTY DEFENCE MINISTER’S DAUGHTER GETS FIRST CLASS DEGREE.

 

The deputy defence minister of the republic of south Sudan Lt.Gen.Chol Thon J. Balok has commended the leadership of the Ugandan government towards the advancement and promotion of the education sphere especially in institutions of higher education.

 

 

Lt. Gen. Chol said this on Friday while speaking to journalists in Luweero during the 30th graduation ceremony of Ndejje University where he was officially invited on behalf of her daughter Aben Jackie with a first class degree in civil engineering.

He said that since the independence of South Sudan, Uganda and the Republic of South Sudan have been having diplomatic ties which have empowered and strengthened the movement of South sudanese students to Uganda.

 

“Despite COVID 19 Ndejje University kept providing education to the students and therefore I applaud the University management for the efforts rendered.” He noted.

Dr. Chris Baryomunsi the Minister for ICT and National Guidance being the chief guest assured more commitment in terms of support towards the IT sector for the University.

 

Baryomunsi appreciated the University for focusing on teaching sciences because the many challenges faced today are result of science and this requires for scientific responses.

 

He described that the error today is technology and industrial revolution therefore universities should take the lead in IT.

 

Although Ndejje is a private institutions, it has very many branches and has been giving out quality graduates in the economy over the years however this is were government comes in to embrace education by putting into place more institutions of higher learning and sofar 53 Universities are approved, he included

Good reports from employers have always been registered by Ndejje University graduates and on addition today, over 1900 students are graduating, the University chancellor Dr. Bishop Hanington Mutebi explained.

 

According to Dr. Mutebi, “dear graduands, this is a memorable day for you and your families and thank for the hard work which is evident however as u leave the University this is a beginning of the walk therefore go out in humility and identify people of integrity as you don’t yearn to grow rich using dubious means but work hard and be ready to account for what u obtain in life.”
