Ndejje University in sight of another East Africa University games’ Crown

Swimming competition at Eastern .Africa University Games at UCU.

Reigning champions Ndejje University are again on verge of retaining the overall title they won in Tanzania two years ago (2012) having won the athletics, Taekwondo and woodball overall medals.

Ndejje University was crowned overall winners in Athletics after sweeping the gold medals in the Eastern Africa University games at UCU Mukono.

Ndejje University sports men and women are tussling it out with hosts Uganda Christian University (UCU) and Kampala International University (KIU) in the medal tally.

The Luweero based University scooped 9 gold, 8 and 10 bronze medals to be declared the overall champions in athletics with 27 medals with the hosts UCU coming second with 16 medals and walked away with silver medals.

Kenyatta University of Kenya settled for bronze medal in team event with 7 medals.

In football, Makerere University, Islamic University in Uganda, Kyambogo University and Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi are into the semis before the finals on 21st December 2014.

Hosts Uganda Christian University are the Rugby champions after winning the one day event held at Namilyango College with Makerere University winning silver.

Kampala International University won gold in Karate with Ndejje scooping the gold medal in taekwondo.

In wood ball, Ndejje is dominating with many gold medals and are on the verge of winning the inaugural event in the biennial games.

In swimming, KIU were again the gold winners.

The Eastern Africa University games end on 21st December 2014 with Ugandan Universities dominating the games.

Football, Netball, Chess, Volleyball and Basketball finals will all be played on Sunday 21st December 2014.
