Murdered Kyambogo University student left 3-week-old baby

The community at Kyambogo University were shocked by the gruesome news of the murder of one of their own student.

The 23 year old student identified as Janat Agayo had given birth to a baby three weeks prior to her fateful demise.

According to close friends, the deceased had abandoned the newborn child at the father, Justin Opedun’s home to move on with boyfriend, identified as Godfrey Onongo.

This prompted the father to file a case of child desertion under vide Kinawataka SD ref 33/11/10/19.After at Kinawataka Police Station.

However, the new love didn’t last long before the lovebirds got into a misunderstanding that, police suspect to have stirred the murder.

A statement by Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson, on Sunday, indicates that Onongo, is believed to have sent a text message to one of Agayo’s sisters, informing her that the body was locked in his house.

“It is alleged that Agayo has been dating the two men at the same time, and it is believed that the baby belongs to Opedun,” the Police said in a statement.

“Relevant statements were recorded from witnesses, such as Agayo’s sister, neighbours of Onongo and other witnesses,” the Police said.

Onongo had fled to Bukedea, after committing the alleged offence.
