MUBS hold Kampala University

University League:

MUBS 2-2 Kampala University

MUBS came from two goals down to snatch a dramatic 2-2 draw against visiting Kampala University. Early in the first half Kampala University displayed spectacular skills with plenty of possession and fluid play and their reward came when Paul Musamali put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute, after midfielder Muzamiru Mutyaba mixed up the MUBS defense before running a through to Musamali. Three minutes into the second half, Musamali again was on mark, after a fine run from Abel Etulude making it 2-0 for KU.

However, their lead was reduced to one when Maxwell Okello stroked home in the 50th after a fine assisted from Joachim Golooba. With confidence beaming, the hosts mounted more pressure and eventually rewarded when Henry Wanyama banged in the equalizer in the 78th minute, a after a dead ball mix up. The goal sent the home fans in the crowd to jubilations, forcing their way to the pitch.

More pressure from MUBS could have given them the winner but KU held on to a result they seemed to have been contented with. The two sides are still the unbeaten teams in the league so far. The result also means KU and MUBS are now tied up with 10 points on the log, while waiting for the verdict of Nkumba – UMU clash later on Friday.
“Linkage in the communication between my centre backs cost us much, but we can still take that result.” “They were the home side, and they had all support.” said Titi Kamara, the KU tactician.
