MUBS edge Ndejje University

By Ivan Olupot

University League: MUBS 1-0 Ndejje
MUBS top the University league table after grinding out a 1-0 win at Ndejje on Tuesday 26th.
A slip in defense from Martin Wasswa led to a Shaban Omara opener in first-half, with Ndejje failing to muster an equaliser despite several attempts to move forward in the second half.  The result means Alfred Muzamiru’s side remains at the bottom having lost the opening fixture to Nkumba by the same margin.

The hosts’ early superiority paid off only in 15 minutes when Shaban Omara penalized Ndejje after capitalizing on an error from defender Martin Wasswa, as he slipped from a muddy pitch, and failing to clear the ball, as Shaban took the opportunity.

Ndejje pressed for an equaliser late on but MUBS secured the win despite an understated performance.
“We had chances to score a goal before we did and yet we wanted to score goals but we didn’t have enough luck.” Said the MUBS tactician Kimbugwe.

On the other hand, Ndejje Uninversity coach Alfred Muhumuza, affirmed after his team lost again. “We are still in the learning process and it will only take time. But we also need to improve on our striking line to get results.”

The result means MUBS remain top of the League with a six-point s, after having previous recorded maximum points from the 4-1 thrashing of MUST. Coach Kimbugwe’s team has also only conceded one goal in their two matches.
