Upon arrival to the Manipal hospital in IndiaMityana Municipality Member of Parliament Francis Zaake has been admitted to the intensive care unit,  according to the MP’s wife, Bridget Namirembe.

Ms Namirembe additionally said that the MP has been diagnosed with closed head injury with multiple soft tissue injuries, blunt neck injury due to tear of the ligaments, broad disc slips and post-traumatic disorientation.

Hon. Zaake’s first attempt to fly out of Uganda to India for medication was blocked on August 30 at Entebbe International Airport over non-clearance from the Police’s Criminal Investigations Department headed by Grace Akullo.

After the blockage, he together with fellow parliamentarian and Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi were later forcefully arrested and driven to Kiruddu, a Mulago National Referral satellite hospital in Kampala.

Mr Zaake left the country after charges of treason and unlawful escape from police custody had been slapped on him but was given a police bond until October 3 when he is expected to report to police.
