Mount Kenya University Medical School ranked best in Kenya

Mount Kenya University Medical School has been marked as the best institution in training medical students in Kenya with a score of 82 out of the possible 100 points in an inspection conducted by a joint team of technical health experts from the East African Community (EAC) Partner States National Medical and Dental Practitioners Regulatory Councils.

The inspection was done between March 2 and 6 2020 under the leadership of  Dr. Nyemazi Alex, member, Education Committee, Rwanda Medical, and Dental Council.

The University met the necessary requirements for training medical students.

The inspection focused on the major areas of governance and management, academic programmes, human resources, student affairs, infrastructure, monitoring and evaluation of programmes, research and innovation.

Mount Kenya University was followed closely by Maseno University with 81 points and Kisii University with 80 points

Dr. Juliet Gathara, Dean Medical School applauded all the staff for the support they have given as she assured the management that it is through teamwork that the school whose vision is “To be a role model of excellence in science and technology, education and training in Africa” is able to excel
