The Uganda Parliament is planning to get MPs the latest version of iPads. At a cost close to 3 million shillings for each ipad, the parliament will spend over 1b for all the 375 Legislators.
The parliamentary commissioners say that the money for the ipads will be got from the Parliament’s budget for stationery since ipads will reduce the use of stationery in parliament.
However, most MPs are not familiar with the use of ipads given the fact that most of them are not of the dot com era. This means that parliament will need to spend more money on hiring a firm to sensitize MPs on how to use these gadgets.
