Meet Asibazuyo Jackie Celine, Crowned Miss Uganda West Nile 2023-2024

The search for the next Miss Uganda kicked off this month with regional tours across the country.

Miss Uganda 2023 pageant was officially launched earlier this month to streamline the process of crowning a new queen.

The journey has this far registered landmarks with the latest updates indicating an already confirmed contender of the top prize from Northern Uganda.

Asibazuyo Jackie Celine, a 24-old year from Arua took home the title of Miss Uganda West Nile 2023 in a glamourous event held at Hotel Le’Confidentiel.

Her hobbies include crocheting, reading and cooking. She is a lugbara by tribe.

The elegant lady outcompeted 9 finalists to set the record straight as the new face of the region.

According to the adjudicators, Jackie was the overall best in interviews and the met the evaluation criteria.

As this year’s theme is “Beauty Beyond Looks”, the organizers are paying attention to character, personality and other qualities besides appearance.

The team of judges included Phiona Bizzu – Miss Uganda 2012, Petronela Acen – reigning Miss Uganda North, Letio Christine – Miss Uganda finalist 2012, Madi – Miss Uganda 2018 and Brenda Nanyonjo – CEO Miss Uganda.

The 1st runner up was Akello Sarah Racheal, 23, from Arua and Langi by tribe with hobbies that included singing, listening to music, and playing instruments (bass guitar and the piano)

Driciru Fiona, a 25-year old Lugbara was voted 3rd as the search team climaxed the eventful occasion.

Miss Uganda 2023 search team will head over to several other regions of Central, Western and Eastern Uganda before the finale in Kampala next month.
