Magdalene Lochoro, a second-year medical records student at Uganda Christian Institute for Professional Development (UCIPD), met a gruesome fate in the early hours of Thursday. Found lifeless and unclothed in a pool of blood near her rental in Lira city, the incident sent shockwaves through the community.
Pastor Enock Mugabi Amanya, Magdalene’s landlord, reported the tragic event to the authorities. According to police spokesperson SP Jimmy Patrick Oken, Magdalene, a Karamojong by tribe, was allegedly murdered by unknown assailants through stabbing.
The police recovered the murder weapon, a knife, and apprehended a suspect named Isaac Ayela, who was believed to be Magdalene’s boyfriend. The motive behind the crime remained uncertain, leaving the community in search of answers.
