UGANET is a registered, non-for profit, social Justice and law organization that champions human rights, and gender equality work in the context of HIV/AIDS and Health. UGANET with support from TASO is seeking to recruit vibrant, competent and committed individuals to fill vacant positions for Communications specialist, Communications officer and Legal Officer
Position: Media Personality (1)
Location: Kampala
Duration: 18 Months on quarterly/retainer consultancy basis .
JOB PROFILE
Brand,
• be the champion,
• take lead,
• Be the face of the media campaigns,
• plan and catalyse action to end HIV/TB related human rights violations in workplaces,
• health institutions and communities
Skills:
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills
• Ability to conduct and publish documentaries in both video and written news articles.
• Knowledge of other languages is an added advantage.
• He/she should be willing to move to different districts of the country
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications or Investigative Journalism.
• A master’s degree in a related field will be of advantage
Experience:
• At least five years of investigative journalism in areas of Health, HIV and Gender with vast expertise in working with media houses.
• Candidates should be able to work independently with minimum supervision and guidance from the supervisor
Job Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications
Job Experience Requirements: five years
